David R. Kennedy was born in Cleveland, Ohio in 1956, the fourth of nine children. He grew up in Bay Village, Ohio and graduated from Bay High School in 1974. Dave attended Miami University in Oxford, Ohio and graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration (Management and Economics) in 1978. He started a career in banking and was working as a branch manager for The Firestone Bank in Akron, Ohio when he enrolled in night school at the University of Akron School of Law in 1982. Dave completed his law degree in December 1985 and was admitted to the Ohio Bar in April 1986. He started into the private practice of law in 1989. David is licensed to practice in all Ohio courts, the United States District Court, Northern District of Ohio, and the United States Supreme Court.

 

Dave concentrates his practice in the areas of Probate and Trust administration; Wills, Trusts and Estate Planning; General Business; and Real Estate.  Dave is the founder of Ohio Fidelity Title Agency, which provides residential and commercial real estate title and escrow services throughout Ohio, and now serves as its General Counsel and Licensed Title Agent. He is a member of the Ohio State Bar Association (Estate Planning, Trust, Probate Law and Real Property Law Sections), and the Akron Bar Association (Estate Planning, Probate and Elder Law Section). Over the years, he has volunteered on various committees with the Akron Bar Association, and is the past chair of the Investigative Subcommittee for Grievance. In 1998, Dave initiated the Life-Law Legal Services program that offers discounted legal services and encourages charitable giving to pro-life and pro-family organizations. Dave attended the National Litigation Academy of the Alliance Defending Freedom in 1999.  ADF is the world's largest legal organization committed to protecting religious freedom, free speech, the sanctity of life, marriage and family, and parental rights. Dave was admitted to practice before the United States Supreme Court in 2011.

Dave and his lovely wife Karen are the parents of four adult children and reside in Sharon Township, Ohio. They are members of the Sacred Heart Church in Wadsworth, Ohio.
